"For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."
Why should I consider getting baptized?
Jesus was baptized and asked people who said yes to following Him to be baptized. Therefore, all who have said yes to following Jesus, should consider being baptized to follow and obey Him. (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:18-20)
What is the significance of baptism?
Baptism is a symbol of our death and resurrection with Jesus. The New Testament word for "baptism" (baptizo in greek) simply means to "immerse" or to "dip." Immersion in the water represents the death of the OLD PERSON with Jesus. Rising up out of the water represents the resurrection of the NEW PERSON with Jesus. (Romans 6:3-8)
Who should be baptized?
Anyone who wants to be baptized needs to have a clear understanding of the basic meaning of baptism and must have already said yes to following Jesus. (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)
